The European project “FORM-ARTE+” intends to validate a learning model that integrates, as three new transversal competences of Vocational Training, the European Cultural Heritage, the Digital Competences and the Environment. It arises after identifying the convenience of using new methodological approaches, which beyond professionally training students, complete their respective curricula with other transversal skills that broaden the base of knowledge and skills.
Partners from four European countries (Spain, Austria, Italy and Portugal) participate in the project, which have selected the Saint James Way as European Cultural Heritage and a versatile educational resource. It will allow vocational training centers in four countries to select different training specialties and develop new learning dynamics not explored in the field of Vocational Training. The subsidy granted by the European Union for the development of this project exceeds 250,000 euros and will last 30 months. Its start, with the first meeting of the European partners, took place on November 26 and 27 in Zaragoza, at the San Valero Group headquarters.
The San Valero Group promotes this new European project, within the framework of the ERASMUS + Program of strategic partnership of cooperation for innovation. The objective is to validate a new methodology of international interest that uses the European Cultural Heritage as a new transversal teaching resource on which professional knowledge can be applied, while other skills are acquired (culture, environment, digitization…).
This new approach seeks, in addition to the acquisition of digital skills, to promote among young people the enhancement of Cultural Heritage and the defense of social values, including the environment. The “FORM-ARTE+” project introduces a new approach to professional, cultural and environmental learning as a new educational platform for young people from many families of Vocational Training. Part of the Camino de Santiago as the first European cultural itinerary, extendable to other tourist routes within the European cultural heritage.
The expected results of the project are:
- Preparation of a multi-language teaching guide in 5 languages for professional training teachers.
- Preparation of a manual of Best Available Techniques and Good Environmental Practices in 5 languages to promote the acquisition of new transversal skills in different training specialties of regulated Vocational Training, all based on European Cultural Heritage.
- Two pilot actions to validate the new methodological approach that will involve 50 teachers and 250 Vocational Training students from different specialties and nationalities who will participate in the project to validate the new methodological approach and the contents developed.
- Multilingual e-learning platform and face-to-face seminars in the four countries, given through the San Valero Group’s Mobile Classroom.
